The sweeping gun-rights bill that has been winding its way through the past two legislative sessions in the Georgia state legislature passed in the last hours of the current session.

The bill, HB060, legalizes the use of suppressors for hunting in the state and allows guns in several areas that previously were off limits, such as in unsecured areas of airports.

“The House has finally come along for Georgia’s gun owners,” said Sen. Bill Heath, R-Bremen on the legislation.

House Bill 60 was introduced into the state House over a year ago before finally passing that body on Feb. 13, 2014 by a landslide 167-3 vote. Then followed a month of being passed back and forth between the Georgia House and Senate with various amendments clarifying the measure’s sections on legalizing suppressors and allowing guns in churches.

The House, sending the bill to the governor’s desk, confirmed the final version, which passed the Senate on Mar. 18 by a 37-18 vote, Thursday.

One of the few changes in the final bill from the original version included dropping language that would have allowed guns in churches. Instead, unless a church itself expressly allows guns on its property, it will remain illegal.

“Churches would have to vote on it,” said Melinda Ennis, who heads Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in Georgia. “The clergy didn’t ask for this and they don’t want it. They wonder why it was put on their plate to deal with when they have so many other matters of faith.”

Meanwhile. those in the firearms industry noted the bill’s inclusion of suppressors, which would now be legal for hunting in the Peachtree State.

“We are pleased by the growing appreciation by state legislators and wildlife managers of the benefits sound suppressors provide to hunters and target shooters,” Larry Keane, National Shooting Sports Foundation senior vice president and general counsel, told Guns.com Friday. “We look forward to actively supporting legislation in other states.”

Legislation backing expanded use of suppressors as well as increases in concealed carry laws have been sweeping the country in recent months. South Carolina’s governor signed a new law in February to allow carry in bars and restaurants that serve alcohol whereas North Carolina greatly expanded their concealed carry laws in 2013.

House Bill 60 now heads to the desk of Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal (R) for signature.

06:26 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): Hello, my name is Rajeev. I’ll be glad to help you today.

06:27 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: The tracking shows it was damaged in shipping and undeliverable. Does no one plan to contact me about this issues, and what about the fact I paid for it and am still waiting?

06:27 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): I’m sorry that you were not informed about the status of the order.

06:28 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): In this case I can help you with a complete refund.

06:28 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald:  What about getting me the product I paid for and give me a refund.

06:30 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): Normally I would have replaced the order, however, your order is only shipped by amazon and sold by a seller on our site. In this case I can only help you with a refund, I’m sorry about that.

I request you to place other order and I’ll upgrade the shipping for you.

06:31 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: That makes no sense to me. What do you mean that the order is shipped only by amazon, I bought it through Amazon Prime.

06:32 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: You say that you will upgrade the shipping, Amazon Prime is free shipping.
06:32 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): Yes I’ll upgrade the shipping to One Day and to make up for the inconvenience I’ll extend your Prime membership by one month.

06:33 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: Besides, when you got the item back damaged, why in the world did someone not just mail one right back out, it was supposed to be here ten days ago
06:34 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: I tell you what, don’t worry about the shipping, and extend my membership six months.

06:34 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): I completely understand and I apologize for the inconvenience you had to face.

06:35 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): I’m sorry, I’m afraid I can’t extend the prime for six months I only have the option to extend it by one month.

06:35 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: How can I get in touch with a supervisor.

06:36 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): Could you give me a minute?

06:36 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: Yes

06:37 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): Could you wait for some more time it is taking a little longer.

06:38 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: Yes, I can wait. One thing Amazon should consider, not giving me a refund when the item was returned, and ten days later no one has made me refund?

06:40 AM(GMT) Rajeev(CSA): I’m sorry for the delay I’m trying to connect to my supervisor, I’ll try make it real fast.

06:40 AM(GMT) Janet McDonald: Yes

06:43 AM(GMT) Sarath(CSA): Hello, my name is Sarath. This is the supervisor.

By the time the supervisor apparently arrived on the scene, I had been disconnected –  Not disconnected from my end- their end.  To date, still no refund…

Mike at Tree Fort Bikes

I recently placed an Order for a shoulder brace at a company, Tree Fort Bikes.  I have never ordered anything from them before, but was looking for a particular type of shoulder brace for my man.  He liked the one at Tree Fort Bikes.  When I placed the Order, I Ordered Fed Ex.  We are in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and in a later email to the company about my Order, I explained it this way:

“I believe that it was Fed Ex Select or three day, one or the other, I realize that it could possibly be as fast, or faster with Priority Mail, the only reason I ordered Fed Ex was because the problems with the Stone Mountain Post Office. The carriers, even though we are here 24 hours a day, will be damned if they will blow the horn, or walk up to the house to leave a package. Fed Ex and UPS have no problems, if we are gone, they know where to leave a package, but Postal will not, to save their lives do anything that takes any kind of sense.”

Anyway, I had found out that the package was inadvertently shipped out via USPS.  When I found out, I emailed the company with my fur all up and ready to start hissing.  The email that I received in return, was immediately calming, I don’t know why.  Usually I am still a bit of a hot head when someone does not follow directions/instructions properly.   The email, from a man named Mike, for some reason, had me feeling like I wanted to explain my ire, so part of my email is above in the pink.  I realized that it was not Tree Fort Bikes that had pissed me off, it is this growing unhappiness with Stone Mountain Post Office Postal Carriers.  I will save it for another day.  This is about Tree Fort Bikes.

They have gone out of their way to make me happy, and I told Mike:  “I so much appreciate your assistance, and will gladly give the company a good reference to those we know that use anything at all that you carry, and a good word on at least one of my blogs, not to mention that you have gained a loyal customer.”  Now, that I have kept my word, I feel all the better.  What do they call it?  Pay if forward?  Where someone does a good thing, and in turn you do a good thing, and on, and on, and on….

For anyone, who needs support braces… Knee, shoulder, or anything I guess having to do with Bikes, try them out, they are well worthy of your business, and stand behind the business, so unlike many today.  Happy Sporting!
